Wind Turbines as big as Brent Knoll

Added on 21 July 2012

Four 130 metre (426 ft) High Wind Turbines at Brent Knoll ?

A Planning application has been received, by Sedgemoor District Council, to erect four wind turbines on a green field site at Rooksbridge. The height of the turbines is almost as tall as Brent Knoll which stands at 137 metres (449ft) and the impact on the visual landscape from the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills will be detrimental to the countryside we chose to live in.

If you think this wind farm is wrong for our special environment then please make your views heard by the planning authorities.

The 'No Pilrow' group have a web site, for the link click here for more information. If you want to view the planning application, look at the Sedgemoor web site (click here) and enter the planning application number 24/12/00018 where you can submit your comments on-line. If you would prefer to write then send your response to Rebecca Miller, Development Management Department, Sedgemoor District Council, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, TA6 3AR.
