Visit of Parliamentary Outreach Officer
Added on 10 January 2011
All members of the public are invited to a presentation by Naomi Kent, Parliamentary Outreach Officer, on Tuesday 18th January, at Morland Hall, Pearce Drive, Highbridge, 10.30 am - 12.30 pm, free entry and refreshments are provided.
The talk is provided by Parliamentary Outreach, a non-political service established by the Houses of Parliament. The service works with individuals and organisations throughout the UK to spread awareness of the work, processes and relevance of the institution of Parliament. The aim is to make Parliament more accessible, make it more straightforward to find out what is happening there, and work with groups to ensure that it is easier for people to get involved in issues of relevance to them.
We will explore how Parliament works, and most importantly how you can get your voice heard there. We will discuss the roles of all parts of Parliament and how you can get involved with Parliamentary processes such as questions, debates, Select Committees and petitions.
