Fly Tipping Service

Sedgemoor District Council can only remove fly tips from public land, as it cannot use taxpayers’ money to remove fly tips from privately-owned land.
However, Sedgemoor’s clean surrounding service is launching a paid-for service, available to private individuals, to clear fly tips from private land, to help landowners whose land is blighted by indiscriminate fly tipping and who may not have the ability to clear away the tip themselves.
There will be a minimum charge of £40 which would cover labour costs and disposal cost of the waste.
Large or unusual quantities of material, or difficult to access sites, would have to be assessed and quote specific costs per job. For further details, contact clean.surroundings@sedgemoor.gov.uk or 0845 408 2543.
