Solar Thermal Hot Water System

Added on 24 November 2009

Ever thought of a Solar Thermal Hot Water system? Worried by the cost?

Sedgemoor District Council can offer a grant of £500 towards a Solar Thermal Hot Water System, along with £400 from the Low Carbon Building Trust grant, making £900 off the cost of a fully fitted system.  Mrs Milner-Simonds from Burnham-on-Sea is the first person in Sedgemoor to have the system fitted  and commented  ‘The whole process from beginning to end has been straight forward and stress-free. The initial survey was completed quickly and it wasn't long before the contractor, Eco Exmoor, were on site. The installation was completed in two days and we celebrated by having a piping hot bath - all for free! “

Barbara Wells, Energy Efficiency Officer for Sedgemoor and West Somerset said  ‘Before paying the grant to the contractor I phone the client to see if they are happy with the installation, everyone has been highly delighted with the system even with the dull, rainy summer we have had ‘ Cllr Herbert, portfolio holder for Housing and Project Delivery said “I am pleased that the scheme is encouraging the use of renewable technology and helping to make big savings on fuel bills for families”
