No Cold Calling Zones
The Safer Homes Partnership is constantly striving to improve the quality of life for its residents. As part of this commitment, we are now operating a "Cold Calling Alert Zone" scheme in the County, which is proving to be a positive tool in reducing the number of bogus callers and unwanted door step sales companies operating in the area.
We have had requests from residents in your vicinity to install such a zone and we would like to respond positively to this. However, In order for this scheme to be successful, residents must be willing to join forces, this means being vigilant and reporting anyone you feel may be a "bogus" caller, using the Police Service Desk number 0845 456 7000. Or in cases where callers are in your road dial 999.
The Zone will be a clearly defined area, indicated by signs, which will be erected to enforce the message NO to all uninvited sales people and to reinforce this, a sticker will be placed somewhere easily visible to callers. As all residents are requested to respond in the same manner, united in the "NO to uninvited sales people" message, you should consider carefully, your willingness to participate in such a scheme.
If we have received no comment by 24/12/2010, then we will assume that you have no objection to this approach and that you are willing to display the sticker and respond accordingly.
