Code of Conduct

The Model Code of Conduct for members was issued by the government under the Local Government Act 2000 and is subjected to regular updates.

Your Parish Council has adopted this Code of Conduct which can be viewed at The Standard Board web site.
 
Standing Orders

The Somerset Association of Local Councils (SALC) has developed a comprehensive model of Standing Orders and Guidelines for Chairmanship which is recommended to be adopted by Parish and Town councils.

These are endorsed by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).

Compton Bishop Parish Council has adopted a Code of Conduct and Standing Orders to ensure that council business is conducted in accordance with best practices in local government. It provides procedures so that Council Business is dealt with in a consistent, professional, effective and democratic manner.
